China Punishes Notorious Myanmar Fraud Mafia Figures to Capital Punishment
One China's judicial body has sentenced several top members of an infamous Burmese mafia to execution as Beijing persists in its efforts on scam activities in the region.
Overall, twenty-one clan members and associates were sentenced of fraud, homicide, injury and other offenses, stated a state media announcement published on the judicial portal.
The family is one of a few of organized crime groups that became dominant in the early 2000s and changed the impoverished backwater town of Laukkaing into a wealthy base of gambling establishments and nightlife areas.
Over the past few years they turned to fraudulent schemes in which many of illegally moved individuals, many of them Chinese, are caught, abused and forced to defraud victims in criminal enterprises worth billions of dollars.

Mafia head Bai Suocheng and his heir the younger Bai were included in the group of men condemned to capital punishment by the judicial body. Another individual, Hu Xiaojiang and Chen Guangyi were the other three punished.
