Former Physician Charged with Assault Charges Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Charges
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
