NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes live text of Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary can be heard through select stations for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week of the football calendar , after recent discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests was the amount of penalties both conceded. The Eagles committed them at crucial times meaning they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the final quarter against Denver, who play in London this weekend.

But it was good to see how Denver quarterback the rookie was able to overcome that deficit before direct three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, securing the game 21-17.

Denver boast the top defender in CB Pat Surtain II. They are first in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and Denver prevailed in that contest.

They executed effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't always rushing more than four defenders but they might position two linebackers in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and send a nickel off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, we said on a program how the Broncos could be this season's dark horses. They ended last season well then excelled of building upon that.

Could Denver be this season's underdog story?

New TE Evan Engram has stepped up significantly while new running back JK Dobbins is a guy they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).

It's impressive that the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver are a team aiming to run first, since you can do a lot off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush while maintains in favourable situations.

This has helped QB the young passer, who entered into the league as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to throw anywhere, however they lack in the same way as Nix. He boasts incredible arm talent, a unique trait, plus he is so athletic.

His strengths are his mobility, the capacity to pass while moving, and finding different arm angles to make throws when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He can throw that layered pass across the middle and past defenders.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got great composure in the pocket and is not bothered by the blitz. He tries to evade being tackled whenever possible and can throw under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is very decisive.

When you constantly run the ball it eats up the clock and makes the defence to be in play extended periods, and when you have an athletic quarterback the defense has to cover the field vertically and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

Nix has pushed back with the coach during games sometimes and I think Payton likes that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's fun for the coach to coach a young quarterback who's kind of like moldable clay. The coach can really build something up the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for him.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. I think the success the Broncos are having on offence is mostly down to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB aids shape him what he is.

There's no better a better guy in your ear, to help you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to face a top squad at its best? Since that was not championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think Denver are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to be in the AFC West. The key to do is maintain this trajectory.

They excel at leaning into their forte, which is running the ball, and this is exactly what they must do against the New York Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad yet to win any game.

Since the NFL started recording takeaways in 1933, this team are also the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers in five outings, this is surprising when you think that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator with another team.

The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

After this Sunday's game, Denver face a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the division.

It depends on which form of the Chiefs they face because the Broncos {beat|def
