I'll dominate 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize the upcoming boxing match.
Ex twice world boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
