American performer Finn, who appeared in iconic programs including Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA this Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, per reports.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a announcement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of popular shows, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His cinematic roles are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was part of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.

Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
