Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions
Arsenal's 10-game victorious run was ended by Sunderland before the global break, but will the English top division leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, readers and a variety of guests.
For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Life
Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."
The singer and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.
"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.
West Ham's only away victory this season came at Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was still Forest manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four games.
A family member advised me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had great success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.
They have got plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.
But I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's home record, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
