Trump Invites Loved Ones of Injured Guard Soldiers to the White House

Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the family of a Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the White House.

He added that he contacted her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Background on the Heartbreaking Shooting

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a shooting on Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Gatherings across West Virginia have been held in their honor.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief explained he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the families of both individuals of the state National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor her,” the president informed journalists. “And similarly with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Community members gathered over the weekend at the high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of Trump’s national effort to aid law enforcement in DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“She was the individual that teachers hoped for. She behaved with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that lifted people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of her previous school, told the press. “She was sweet, caring and always willing to assist people.”

Service details for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Judicial Actions and Policy Revisions

Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The incident led the Trump administration to halt asylum applications and cease issuing visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Wolfe

The airman, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, per the news agency.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor the governor stated on a news program.

Attorney general the attorney general told the program that she also intended to visit Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a military police officer with distinction, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had fortitude,” the governor informed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her life ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
