The visionary game developer, the mind behind the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in California he was 55 years old.
The tragic news was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company that he helped create.
The celebrated industry figure lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday, US media outlets report.
"This represents an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, those closest to him, and the countless individuals inspired by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
